Shift the way you think about trials and adversity. Clarity #Kickoff

Hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July celebrating our freedom as a country. Honoring tradition, I spent it with the fam at our favorite lake camping where fortunately there is still no cell reception or wifi!  It gave me time to reflect, recharge, and recalibrate for the 2nd half of the year and the beginning of Q3.  I am super excited to kick start the Summer Of Clarity and have you join in on the adventure.

Coaching is really about support in bridging a gap.  I am here in the present and I want to be there in the future = a coaching gap.  Every person has a problem they want to solve or an opportunity they want to seize.  It does not matter where you are on that spectrum, the direction you want to go is to the next level.  Great things are accomplished when you enter a coaching relationship.

Starting this week, we launch a FREE online coaching group of sorts where you can join the conversation by commenting on weekly blogs your progress and ask for help from the others who are in the challenge with you.  We will be following the weekly reviews in the personal leadership book Clarity: Focusing on What Matters.  All you need to do is subscribe to this blog and it will be very helpful to have a copy of Clarity in hand or on your Kindle to follow along.  We will share additional thoughts and quotes via twitter and facebook. So follow along with formula and join in – don’t hide be accountable.

Let’s Go

If you know your gap and the goal you want to work on for the rest of the Summer, 2011, and fiscal year then let us know below and then check in next week for the second challenge.

To jumpstart you this week, until you have your own copy of Clarity, here is the entire reading for this week and some additional thoughts.  So read it and then come back and tell us if you are ready to fly with the eagles or stay content as a jellyfish.

Your challenge this week is to shift your thinking on trials and adversity.  Why?  The making of great character is in the way you handle adversity and character is built in such times as this so quit whining and embrace what is. To fulfill your purpose and lead effectively, you must be able to persevere through adversity and gain as much wisdom and character as you can in these times.

Everyone leads someone.  Think about leading YOURSELF if no one else.  You are a leader so get in the game and let’s take it to the next level.

What is your one big goal and how can we help hold you accountable?

Your Coach,
