It is a true honor to writing paper present to you Mary Beth King, our newest TLC coach. When I met Mary Beth and she shared her coaching philosophy, I thought, “Wow, she’s someone who actually sees this profession like I do…interesting!” As we furthered our conversation, I knew we needed to partner together, and I asked her to join our coaching staff. Within two months, she has not only impressed me, but our clients are raving about her and getting the results they desire! Please welcome Mary Beth King to our team (and if anyone on your team is looking for a coach now is the time! If not now, when?)
Here’s Mary Beth …
Last month, I sat on a plane next to a woman on the way to her little sister’s 90th birthday. Yes, really. She’s writing an autobiography, and she told me story after story about her life, as amazing as it is long. At one point, she paused and added fact-of-factly, “You realize, I’ve lived several lifetimes.”
I can’t say that yet, but I have begun to think of my life in decades, give or take a year here or there.
Two decades growing up. Four decades being a spouse. Three decades being a parent. A half a decade being a grandparent.
A half a decade teaching math and science. Two decades working with doctors and hospitals to provide training. One decade professionally-certified coaching.
But you probably don’t care about any of that. Except to wonder if it makes me old. (It doesn’t!) You want to know who I am and whether or not it matters to you. (It does!)
I actually may be the only person in your world, including you, who believes that you are naturally creative, resourceful, and not broken. Yes, you know better than anyone around you how broken some of your relationships are, some of your teams are, some of your “systems” are, and some of your thoughts and behaviors are. But you, my friend, are not broken. As a human being, you are by nature creative, resourceful, and not broken and therefore, capable of growing. Capable of learning. Capable of changing.
That is the core of what I bring to coaching: the belief that you are never stuck – ever. Coaching is about exploring what is working and what is not. It’s about discovering your options where it’s not working, and making choices in line with what is important to you. It’s about not settling for a relationship, or a career, or a life that is half working. It’s about always moving toward success.
I’m a no-nonsense, no-judgment coach. I ask the questions that reveal what’s going on today, while always focusing on future that you are creating, the changes you are making, the goals you are reaching.
That’s who I am. Who are you?
